“Our first task in approaching another people, another culture, another religion, is to take off our shoes, for the place we are approaching is holy. Else we may find ourselves treading on men’s dreams. More serious still, we may forget that God was here before our arrival.” Max Warren, General Secretary of the Church Mission Society in the introduction to Kenneth Cragg, Sandals at the Mosque: Christian Presence amid Islam (London: SCM Press, 1959.)

The Nicaraguan Mission Team meets monthly to plan for a June 2014 trip to Nicaragua.  Team leaders are Kim Heimlich and Chris Isaacs. This is our fourth trip and each team usually has had 12 to 16 adults and teens.   During the time in Nicaragua we work with the families of Project Chacocente ( http://www.outofthedump.org/ ) on projects they need and do some touring to enjoy the culture of Nicaragua.  Trip expense includes airfare, room, all meals, project materials, bus and tour expense.   Sponsorships and fundraisers help to lessen individual’s trip cost.
